Rural Crisis Center Facility broke ground on November 12, 2024

South Central Alabama Mental Health Center’s Rural Crisis Center Coming to Brantley

The Town of Brantley is proud to welcome the new Rural Crisis Center, a major mental-health investment led by the South-Central Alabama Mental Health Center (SCAMHC). This facility will provide 24/7 crisis care and support to individuals and families across Crenshaw County and the surrounding region.

Designed to expand access to behavioral-health services in rural Alabama, the center will offer crisis assessments, short-term stabilization, observation services, and rapid connection to longer-term community resources. The facility will serve as an important alternative to emergency rooms and jails for individuals experiencing mental-health or substance-use crises.

The project represents a significant economic investment for Brantley as well. Once fully operational, the center is expected to create dozens of jobs and bring new professional opportunities to the community.

The Town of Brantley is honored to partner with SCAMHC and looks forward to the positive impact this facility will have on residents, families, first responders, and our entire region.
